Commitment to Roofing Safety
Ensuring Safe Working Conditions and Customer Satisfaction with Our Proven Safety Program
We are committed to creating safe working conditions and a securing workforce that can focus on the roofing job at hand. Royalty Roofing takes great pride in the success of our employees and the satisfaction of our customers. We strive to be leaders in the roofing industry with our established and proven safety program. The program promotes high morale and enables us to complete jobs on time and in a safe manner.
Our Commitment
We begin training on day one of employment. Employees complete safety orientation prior to working on any job site. All employees involved with job site activities complete monthly safety training and attend weekly “toolbox talks” conducted by the safety director.
Also, with respect to safety on the job site, we meet with our insurance providers quarterly at various locations, another resource on using safe practices. We periodically engage a third-party safety consulting company to conduct job site visits. Their professional, “outside” viewpoint provides a fresh perspective on Royalty’s safety practices and compliance.
Kinder Morgan and ISN started a new program this year that double checks out commitment to safety. Royalty has recently completed the process to ensure our commitment to safety.
Planning for Safety
Planning for each roofing project begins with safety. Management conducts pre-construction meetings to focus on potential job site safety hazards prior to the Royalty crews arriving at the job location. While projects are under construction, the safety team conducts unannounced site safety inspections on a weekly basis to ensure compliance with Royalty’s safety polices and those of our customers.
Our Results
Royalty Roofing strives to develop the proper employee attitude toward accident prevention, instructing employees to recognize hazards by ensuring all operations are performed with the utmost regard for safety. Our achievement is illustrated through an evaluation of Royalty’s EMR over the past 3 years compared to national average in the roofing industry and similar trades. EMR (Experience Modification Rate) is a number used by insurance companies to gauge both the past cost of injuries and the future chance of risk. The lower the EMR, the better. Royalty’s average EMR over the past 3 years is .70 compared to the industry average of 1.00.
At Royalty Roofing, we want to ensure a positive and productive roofing experience and safe working environment for our installation crews and our customers. We make a commitment to maintaining our excellent standing in the roofing industry with respect to the safe completion of all projects that we are involved with.
